Tatiana’s practice focuses primarily on intellectual property law, information technology, data protection, and commercial law. In these fields, she advises both Belgian and international clients and represents them in litigation before the Belgian courts and other dispute resolution bodies.

 Tatiana holds a Master’s degree in Economic and Social Law from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property and IT Law (IP/IT) from KU Leuven. Tatiana has been a member of the Dutch-speaking Brussels Bar since 2023. She joined MVVP in 2025. Before she gained experience in commercial and corporate law at a Belgian law firm, after having worked in the field of data protection.

Peter-Jan Smet is Counsel in MVVP’s Corporate Department.

Peter-Jan has particular experience in the financial sector, where he assists clients with fund structuring, regulatory questions, cross-border matters and related corporate law issues.

He developed his career in Belgium and Luxembourg and previously worked as counsel in the financial regulatory team of a global law firm. He also gained valuable in-house experience with an investment company and a private bank.

Peter-Jan is a member of the Brussels Bar and was, for more than ten years, also registered with the Luxembourg Bar in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Peter-Jan originally started his professional career at MVVP, where he completed his legal internship under the supervision of Nicole Van Ranst. His return to the firm therefore marks both a new chapter and a return to familiar ground.

Peter-Jan holds an LL.M. from Duke University School of Law in the United States, a Bachelor of Laws from the Université de Namur, a Master of Laws from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, a specialised master’s degree in corporate law from Hogeschool Universiteit Brussel, and a postgraduate specialisation in financial law from Universiteit Gent. He also studied for two semesters at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg as part of the Erasmus exchange programme and completed part of his bar training at the Paris Bar through the Stage International.

Peter-Jan works in Dutch, French and English and has a good command of German.
